Fourteen-year-old Cory is an active, outgoing boy. An outdoorsy kind of kid, he loves to stay busy swimming, riding his BMX bike and spending as much time as he can outside. One of his very favorite hobbies is bike riding. Cory relishes opportunities to explore dirt paths and take rides around his neighborhood.
Watching television is always a hit for Cory. His favorite show is the Family Guy. Cory is a huge fan of action movies. His favorite movies include The Chronicles of Riddick, Fast and The Furious, and The Iron Man.

When it comes to food, Cory has a ton of favorites. "I like food that's flavorful and spicy, especially Spanish food. I also like spaghetti, pizza, mushrooms, pot roast and vegetables, chicken, ribs and horchata - that's a Mexican drink," he says. His love for Mexican food runs deep. He cannot get enough bean burritos, tacos, taquitos or Mexican candies. Cory admits that when it comes to eating out, nothing beats McDonald's, Pei Wei, and Filiberto's.
Another interest of Cory's is repairing things. "Cory is modern day MacGyver," says Mary, Cory's Adoption Case Manager. She explains that Cory enjoys building and fixing things. He is a creative and innovative young man who can repair his own bike in no time. "I like to take things apart and rebuild them with my Leatherman tool." He would like to turn his hobby into a future career by becoming a bike mechanic.
Cory is in the seventh grade. He says that he likes school, especially Math and Science. History class, while sometimes a little boring, seems to interest this young man. "It's all one big story and you put it all together and it's a good story," he explains. A young man with behavioral challenges and academic delays, Cory receives special services at school and will need a family willing to advocate for him academically.
Cory needs a family with a clear understanding of his behavioral, emotional and social needs. He looks forward to a day when he can become a part of a loving and committed family. He needs a nurturing, patient family who can give him direct supervision. His ideal family will be able to welcome him into the family's everyday activities and provide him a strong and loving commitment from the very start. Cory needs an active, outgoing family that can keep up with his boyish energy. His adoptive family must have either older children or no children in the home. With plenty of love, understanding and attention, Cory will flourish.
