Er-IIIIII’m A Pirate
This has been a great couple of days over here in Hollywood. Disney invited a SELECT number of reporters to preview three new DVD releases and I got the call….after Tara, Lisa and Olivia turned it down.
I’m not a big fan of movie junkets because for the most part they’re boring. This one has been great. Wednesday we spent at the beach in Santa Monica dressed up like pirates on a full set with sword fights, interviews and zip lines. They called it “Pirate Boot Camp” and I’m now fully certified to talk about “Pirates of the Caribbean, Part Tray.”
Thursday we spent at the super secret Disney Animation Research Library where millions of dollars worth of old animation, pencil drawings, clay models etc. are kept. We were here to get an appreciation of what went on behind the seens as Disney got ready to release it’s 40 year old “JungleBook” on DVD. It was a fascinating day and we got to go where few people outside Disney ever get in.
Today (Friday) we’re concentrating on “Meet The Robinsons” and then I’m heading to Redlands to visit my daughter in college. I’m REALLY liking my job this week!
