Consumed By Electronics

January 13th, 2008

IntelLoRez_sized225.jpgI’m back safely from the Consumer Electronic Show, and my head is still swirling!

TV’s make the biggest impression. All the big players with the biggest areas fill them with flat screen TV’s. I assume that means TV’s are among the most profitable and competitive electronic devices on the market. Panasonic wowed everybody with it’s 150-inch plasma television. It looked great and was fun to see but the reality is that most of us will never be able to afford one, and never own a house big enough to put it in. Therefore I have to say I was most impressed with Sony’s 11 inch OLED (organic light emitting diode) TV. It’s expensive at 25-hundred dollars but that price will slowly start dropping as television pictures begin to look more like a high end photograph.
One thing else is true about CES, you can’t see everything. Once again I got home this year and then started reading about some great new gadgets I didn’t even know were on display. I guess all I can do is try again next year.
